My Older Brothers.

Well, my brothers and I like to argue! It seems like every two minutes or so, we are having an argument! And it's always over something really small or pointless. Most brothers and sisters argue over things that don't really need to be argued about; I guess that's just how it goes!!!!

Loic: Loic is my 13 year old brother. He does karate- so that's not too good - and he likes to argue WITH ME! Loic is the one I argue with the most, but we always end up apologizing to each other.

Callum: Callum is my 19 year old brother who likes to pick a fight and he normally ends up winning! He is VERY manipulative! He knows a lot of words that I don't even know the meaning of, and he uses THEM in an argument with me. Our arguments always end up him saying a word, me being confused and him laughing and winning the match.

Even though me and my brothers argue a lot, we probably argue because we know nothing REALLY bad is going to happen; we know it's safe to argue, and that's why we do it. We do it to satisfy one another!

My brothers can definitely annoy me, and I know I can annoy them as well, but at the end of the day, it NEVER lasts more than a day!!!!

The Vet Visit.

Last Thursday when I had just got home from school, my brother had a sad look on his face so I asked him what was up. He said to me that our Persian cat, Anshar had gone to the vet feeling ill.

We think he might have been stung by a wasp or bitten by a bee; either way he is a memory none of us will forget.
I used to call him my Fat-Flat-Faced-Puddy-Cat haha, mostly because he had a flat face, he was fat and he was a very young, very lovely 2 year old cat whom I will miss a lot.
Brung Brung Brung- went the phone. The vet had rung us to see if it was alright if they could put him down; they said his heavy breathing was just getting worse, and worse, so we got into the car straight away to say our goodbyes.
On the way to the vet me and my brother both had tears rolling down our faces, making our eyes as red as tomatoes, we didn't want him suffering any longer so we approved the thought of putting him down.
We walked slowly into the room where they kept him, and there he was, lying down on his side, breathing heavily into an oxygen mask, and it looked like the vet assistant had been crying aswell.

As the needle's liquid slowly entered Anshar's arm, I saw his face, and thats when I thought I had to leave, but when I saw his little tongue sticking out, I knew it would be best to stay, otherwise I wouldn't be able to say goodbye.

We ended up taking him home and burying him at the side of our house with painted rocks and a cross over where he has been buried.
He has gone now but we will always remember him. One way to remember him is our other Fat-Flat-Faced-Puddy-Cat, Willow. She has lost her mate, and so has our dog, Chester.

Class Camp Soon!

Well, our class camp is coming up!
Dave (our teacher) has explained to us what we will be doing on this camp - and to me it sounds like it's going to be a load of fun!!
There will be swimming in caves and on beaches, walks, games, kayaking, abseiling and LOTS of other REALLY AWESOME activities; there will also be a talent show!
I'm really looking forward to camp, but it's not just smooth sailing for us, to raise money for our camp we have to run from Nelson to Marahau in bits.
Four laps of our front field is 1 km, we have to do 70 kms!
So far I am 7 kms past Ruby Bay, which isn't that bad, it's just a very long distance- 70 km!!
All of the class is participating which is great, we need to earn the money for our camp otherwise all our camp plans will go down the tube!!!  And we DO NOT want that to happen :)
In ways running 70 kms is fun because we know that what we are doing is to earn money for our awesome camp, and earning money will allow us to continue with the plans- which will lead us to FUN FUN FUN!!

School Tryathalon!!

On Tuesday 23 February,  a school Tryathalon took place on the front field.
First were the year 5 girls, then year 5 boys, then year 6 girls, then finally the year 6 boys.
My class did a type of poem to describe how we felt whilst doing this tryathalon; this is mine:

At the start
When I was waiting for the clappers to smack together at the starting line of the race, suddenly my tummy started to churn in knots; I was nervous and even more so when I heard the bang of the clappers!!

Along Willow Walk
Once I had started to run up Willow Walk my tummy turned calm, because I knew I couldn't go back and realised I wasn't doing so bad!

In the pool
As soon as I hopped into the pool I felt so relaxed, because when I was running I was boiling hot and tired, but the pool was so nice and cool I didn't want to get out.

At the bike transition
Well, this was the last activity in the Totara Tryathalon, so I wanted to speed up for the biking .
I did pretty good; I sped  up on this bit.

At the finish line
YES! I had finished the Tryathalon!
I Was pretty proud of my place; Nope I didn't come 1st, but I tried my best and came 6th, which isn't that bad!
I had fun doing this Tryathalon with my friends and the encouragement  of other kids in my class and all the parents!
